Mark Thornton | Featured Speaker
Mark Thornton came to Boise in 1984 on a full ride football scholarship to Boise State University and has lived in the Treasure Valley ever since. Mark started serving in ministry as a volunteer with the Idaho State Office for Promise Keepers Men’s Ministry in 1996 and was hired to a part time position the following year.
Since that time, Mark has served in full time ministry as an Associate Pastor at Capital Church in Meridian as a Worship Leader, Men’s Ministry Director, Community Pastor and Outreach Coordinator. In 2013, Mark was awarded the “Governors Brightest Star Award” for outstanding volunteer service in the Treasure Valley for his efforts in coordinating the “I Heart Treasure Valley” event which saw over 4500 people volunteering throughout the Valley. Mark is the Founder and Director of I Heart Treasure Valley.
Mark has served as Chaplain for the Boise State Football team since 2010 and also as a Board Member on various Non-Profits that help promote the Gospel and encourage people to fulfill the call of God on their life.
Mark’s greatest desire is to see unity, amongst the people of God in our community, manifest to the extent that the promises and blessings of God are tangible for believers and unbelievers alike.
Mark’s greatest blessings are his wife Susan, and his children Charlotte, Hugh, Kathryn & Micaiah as well as his 5 grandchildren!
